BAKED TO PERFECTION

Date: 2014.05.13 ~ 2014.05.16

Venue: Shanghai New International Expo Centre

City: Shanghai, China

The largest trade fair of its kind in Asia, Bakery China 2014 returned to Shanghai from May 13-16. The comprehensive annual event covers the entire range of products and services offered by the baking and confectionery industry, making it a must-attend affair for industry players. Jebsen Industrial, as a regular supporter of Bakery China, joined the exhibition with a suite of food ingredients solutions.

What made Bakery China 2014 special for Jebsen Industrial’s Food, Beverage & Pharma Division, was an unprecedented showcase of its own food innovations. These were developed by an in-house expert team at Jebsen Industrial’s R&D Centre in Shanghai especially for Bakery China and took into consideration major consumer food trends like nutrition, weight management, safety and variety.

What made Bakery China 2014 special for Jebsen Industrial’s Food, Beverage & Pharma Division, was an unprecedented showcase of its own food innovations.

Jebsen Industrial presented a comprehensive range of Daregal products from flavourful sauces (Toscana, red pesto, pesto and others) to variety of herbs (including peppermint, thyme, oregano, basil, tarragon and more). All products are 100% natural and carefully processed to retain their original flavours. For maximum convenience, Daregal products can be used straight out of the pack with a variety of food like pizza, sandwiches, salads and cooked foods.

Even everyday foods like potato chips, biscuits, cookies, red bean cakes and caramel crackers, in the creative hands of Jebsen Industrial’s R&D team, were turned into innovative treats for show-goers to sample. Just potato chips alone came in many flavours like cucumber, lime, Toscana  and thyme chicken. Ordinary biscuits, with the addition of different flavours like basil, thyme and black pepper, became delectable treats. The popular red bean cake was also given an ‘international’ boost of flavour – white bean with mint paste, Provence white bean paste, lemon thyme red bean paste, Toscanared bean paste and more. Cookies were also presented in original, crisp, sugar-free, cinnamon, curry and green bean flavours, attracting the attention and praise of Bakery China’s trade visitors.

Jebsen Industrial displayed its innovative spirit not just through the exhibition and food samples – it also demonstrated the versatility of its principals’ food ingredients. Alongside this showcase were the solutions of many Jebsen Industrial principals. This included Nexira ’s Fibregum, the healthy probiotic fibre derived from all-natural acacia gum; Wenlan’s vegetable and fruit powders, Tate & Lyle’s food stabilisers for biscuits, French fries and potato chips; Futura ’s bakery and oils and fats products which can strengthen gluten, slow ageing, improve structure and increase volume; Sensus ’s anti-crystallising inulin and oligofructose; as well as spices from AKAY.

To complete its line-up, Jebsen Industrial, as a complete solution provider, also brought Nordic Paper to Bakery China 2014. The Scandinavian brand is a worldwide supplier of speciality paper for the food packaging industry. It uses only renewable resources in its manufacturing process and has invested in the development of fast biodegradable packaging paper.

Going by the hearty response of the 400 trade visitors that visited the Jebsen Industrial booth, this approach of bringing solutions and applications together is quite effective in inspiring and helping visitors innovate. This, according to Jebsen Industrial, is the key to long-term success in China’s high potential but highly competitive food and beverage industry.
