A PERFORMANCE DRIVEN SALES FORCE

It is common knowledge that a motivated sales force is the best way to keep sales flowing but opinions differ on how to achieve this. At Jebsen Industrial, a motivated sales team is the result of continuous support, recognition and reward. Understanding that its salespeople are often faced with a multitude of challenges, Jebsen Industrial established a Sales League in 2012 to more effectively recognise and reward its top performers while inspiring a performance-driven sales force.

 

The Sales League is part of Jebsen Industrial’s talent strategy to imbibe its sales force with the energy, excitement and engagement they need to perform to their full potential.

 

While financial rewards like bonuses can generate short-term energy boosts, non-financial incentives are often associated with deeper employee engagement. Accordingly, the Sales League, which measures results on a quarterly and yearly basis, was developed to help Jebsen Industrial balance the need for both types of performance drivers.

 

It recently announced the top achievers for the full year 2013, naming three individuals for each of the award categories – Order Intake, Sales and Gross Profit. Interestingly, the nine winners came from seven different departments, indicating a good spread of talent across Jebsen Industrial. The Nutrition & Health Department and Food Ingredients Department, having swept two awards for Highest Target Achievement in Sales at the last quarterly awards, continued its lead with three awards for the Food, Beverage & Pharma Division. The Engineering & Technology Division did just as well, with its Broadcast & Cinematic Solutions Department, Primary Industry Equipment Department – Textile Section and Plastics Department producing winners in the Order Intake and Sales categories. The Technical Services Division and Automotive Technik Division (through its Automotive Components Department) also joined the honour roll with one award each. From the nine winners, the top salesperson in each category went on to receive a Sales Excellence Award endorsed and presented by the Jebsen Industrial management team.
