Jebsen successfully rolls out e-learning initiatives for its people

 

Talent development through structured, well-developed training programmes has always been a priority for Jebsen. This year, it has extended employee training from the classroom to the computer, much to the delight of its people.

 

The Jebsen e-learning platform was designed and developed to cater to a growing need among employees for a more flexible training tool and a more personalised learning experience. Phase 1 began in June 2014 with 19 modules covering four key competencies: Work Effectiveness; Analysing, Decision Making & Problem Solving; Relationship Building & Communication; as well as English Language. Participants selected up to five modules and completed the term in September. Phase 2 has since commenced in October with an extended curriculum that covers Innovating, Adapting & Responding to Change, Customer Focus and Drive & Results Orientation as well.

Ms Carolyn Yu, Business Analyst at Jebsen Industrial, was glad to have been among the first cohort of participants that benefited from the initiative. “The greatest advantage of the e-learning platform is the flexibility that it offers us. I can choose to repeat certain modules as many times as I need, whenever I want. This is really helpful especially since many of us have tight work schedules,” she said. “The course content is also very engaging. I like how plenty of case studies were used instead of just dry theoretical points. It made it fun and interesting.”

 

With positive feedback from its people, Jebsen is committed to advancing the e-learning platform and reaching out to more employees. “Training is a natural part of life at Jebsen Industrial. Our people, whether placed on a managerial or professional career development roadmap, undergo specifically designed training programmes to help them achieve their full potential.
